"I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, 'Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.'"
- Vanessa Hudgens, on her mother's reaction to her nude pictures, to Seventeen Magazine

Fabulous: Italian Wool Scarf
Look at what I found on the Etsy site. I love the little houndstooth crow that sits comfortably on one end of this lux scarf. The perfect way to stay warm this winter and partake in the houndstooth trend.

Listen Up: Starlight Mints
A couple of my friends introduced me to Starlight Mints, and I was immediately hooked. I think I'll call this Psychedelic Bubblegum Pop. It's fun and catchy, but still earns the right to be called indie. Rock on Mints, rock on.

The Weirdness: Hello...Kitty?
Earlier this week I read that they were going to make a more "masculine" Hello Kitty line, but this is a little extreme don't you think?

Celebrity Style: Market Bags by Jaye Hersh
I'm not the biggest Paris Hilton fan, but you have to admit: that gangly, semi-attractive celebutante has killer style. Check out her monogrammed messenger bag, which not only looks good, but also benefits a good cause. $35 from every bag sold is donated to the IRC to help provide education to war affected children around the globe. Now, that's my kind of bag!
Available only at Intuition, $95-125 depending on style.

It's My Life: Relationships On Paper
I tend to dwell on past relationships for a very long time and I have no idea why. I move on just fine, but I'm never completely moved on. Confusing, no? Anyway, I took a Creative Writing class two semesters ago, and this weekend while I was doing a little winter cleaning, I cam across my graded assignments. Can you guess what most of them had in common? Whenever I didn't have any restrictions on the content of the paper, it was always based on a past relationship. It's like my whole 8 years of dating hopelessness was caught on paper and stretched out in front of me. It was totally subconscious, because a lot of them I couldn't remember writing. Looking back now, I have to wonder what kind of emotional train wreck my professor thought I was. Maybe he felt sorry for me and that's why they were all A's. I guess that the one thing I took from all my failed relationships: the ability to turn my gloom into pretty awesome grades. Funny how things work out...

The Tube: Mysterious Ticking Noises Can Lead To Spontanious Musical Numbers
What do you get when you mix boredom, harry potter and a naked Dumbledore? Well, I'm not exactly sure, but this should be close. The wonders of YouTube abound...

Listen Up: The Heavy Blinkers
How can you not love a dancing cupcake and singing candy! I'll admit the video is a bit trippy, but it's pure fun. It took me forever to track this group down after hearing a bit of this song, but I finally did and I want you guys to check them out. The band is called The Heavy Blinkers and they're a Canadian Orchestral Pop band. Cool, huh? I don't even know what Orchestral Pop is, but it can't be that bad, can it? Seriously though, give them a listen. You'll be pleasantly surprised, I bet.
In the dark night, I could be a shining light baby
I could be a leading light out to love if she'd just let me
I know that love can grow, but try telling that to my baby
I don't know why she's tearing apart my world
I need to see her now, before I take this final vow
before I take this final bow out of love, she could save me
I know that love can grow, but try telling that to my baby
I don't know why she's tearing apart my world
In the dark night, I could be a shining light baby
I could be a leading light out to love if she'd just let me
I know that love can grow, but try telling that to my baby
I don't know why she's tearing apart my world
